Collection: Bell Hutley X Madeleine Thompson Forest Floor Cashmere Collection

British artist and designer Bell Hutley, has collaborated on exclusive designs for a limited-edition collection of cashmere home accessories and loungewear with British knitwear designer, Madeleine Thompson.

This AW/21 ‘Forest Floor’ collection celebrates the coming together of art, interiors and fashion, with a luxurious collection of large, illustrated throws, oversized cushions and cosy cashmere jumpers and hoodies. Bell Hutley’s whimsical illustrations pay homage to woodland habitats and their biodiversity which was inspired by the forest where she grew up in the South of England.

Bell Hutley says, “The forest floor itself is a web of beautiful and diverse worlds, from mycelium networks to fungi fruits. I find these dark, mysterious areas of woodland enticing and bewitching and I really wanted to capture my love of this in the collection.

Madeleine Thompson says, I am so thrilled to share this very special collection with the world! To work with Bell is to enter her magical world which is such a delightful place to be. I feel truly honored and very proud of what we have created together; her designs are utterly stunning and each piece is meticulously crafted in the softest most luxurious cashmere.”

ABOUT MADELEINE THOMPSON

Founded in 2007, the eponymous cashmere label from British designer Madeleine Thompson has garnered a fashion-forward following for its sumptuously soft collections of luxurious knitwear.  Both creator & designer of the brand Madeleine started small, with a simple, slouchy cashmere beanie hat that rapidly became a cult classic, capturing the attention of chic stars including Lily Donaldson, Kate Moss and Sienna Miller.

From there, she expanded the brand into a range of minimalist, pared-back cashmere that was soon being stocked by Matches, among other prestigious outlets.

With a Chinese mother and an English father, Madeleine grew up in both London and Hong Kong.   After studying law at Durham University, she settled in Hong Kong working as a buyer for a leading department store.

It was here the idea was born, and the brand has snowballed from there.

The collection is sold in over 100 stockists and has pioneered the sports lux cashmere tracksuit trend, with an array of brightly hued, statement stripes and colour blocks.   Now balancing her work life with being a mother of three, Madeleine still divides her time between London and Hong Kong.
