The fashion industry is the second-largest industrial polluter, accounting for 10% of global pollution, ranking higher than emissions from air travel!
When factoring in the entire lifecycle of a garment, from manufacturing to transportation to ultimately ending up in landfill, in total, 1.2 billion tonnes of carbon emissions are released by the fashion industry every year.
Our clothing is anything but ultra-fast fashion. We’ve been working on this truly circular fashion line for more than two years, scrutinizing suppliers (we looked at over 800 different potential partners) and making sure that the production was in line with what we stand for as a sustainable and social impact brand.
We call it trackable, circular fashion. Each batch of clothing we make comes with its own QR code. That way, you know what your garment is made from, and where it is in the circular loop.
And we want to say a huge thank you to you for making this purchase as you’ve helped us kick start this circular revolution - you’re using the first batch of clothing we’ve produced. Your blend is 80% organic cotton from Izmir, Turkey and 20% recycled cotton, also from Izmir, Turkey.
Organic cotton is way better for wildlife and natural habitats, soil quality and farmers’ health. Going organic will save 665 litres of water per item. Our recycled organic cotton is GRS-certified (Global Recycled Standard), and our organic cotton from Turkey is both GOTS-certified (Global Organic Textile Standard) and OCS-certified (Organic content standard).
Here’s how agood loop works
In order to increase the recycled content of our clothing, we need your items back once you’re done with them - when we get them back we regrind them and turn them into something new. That batch of clothing will also have its own QR code, and whoever buys that will be able to see how much re-used clothing their new item contains. That’s circular fashion right there - and we love it!
